Deep Tissue Massage: Release the muscle. Release the pain. Tight muscle tissue can pinch the nerves that are running through it, contributing to back pain, neck pain, shoulder, arm, hand, leg and foot pain. Headaches, arthritis, tendonitis, and bursitis respond well to deep tissue massage. I’m happy to work with your doctor or other health-care practitioner to help you achieve specific goals.
Deep Tissue Massage is much more intense than Swedish Massage. Instead of long, light strokes that stimulate circulation, the technique is to apply strong pressue very slowly to key muscle groups associated with pain patterns. Although intense, many people who experience this type of massage choose to have this style exclusively, while others prefer to have elements of Deep Tissue incorporated into a Swedish Massage.
